Black-banded demoiselle (Eng) – Amblypomacentrus breviceps (Lat) (family Pomacentridae) – grows up to 8.5 cm. It feeds on small invertebrates. Unlike most species in damselfishes family, inhabiting coral slopes, it dwells on a sandy or muddy bottom. Uses both natural and man-made shelter. Recognizable by the dark vertical stripes on a silver body. Depth 2 to 35 meters, usually 5-15 meters

Western and Central Pacifica - Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Fiji
